These white alpaca yarns are hand-spun from our alpaca fleeces. All yarns are individual small batches. Colours may vary between batches even for the same animal. Fibre has been hand washed and carded without the use of harsh chemicals. So our yarn may still contain a small amount of vegetable matter. The colour is the natural colour of the alpaca fibre.
Tin Dragon carded alpaca fibre products are selected from our own alpaca fleeces (Australian Fibre Collective licensee: 0018). So you can be assured that the fibre was grown and produced sustainability and ethically on our farm in North East Tasmania.
White lightly-washed and carded alpaca slivers have been hand-spun to create a unique alpaca yarn. Suitable for knitting, weaving, and crochet projects. Of course each skein is handmade--so they can be considered one of a kind. Yarns are two-ply meaning that two singles have been plied back together for extra strength and stability. Each yarn has an average guage of 13 wraps-per-inch (WPI) and weighs over 100g. Price is based on weight: $40 per 100g.
